November 1 wow...

sure doesn't take long for a year to go by! and this one is flying. with that said last week seemed to last for ever and the weekend just flew by.

both of the kids are up & out today. funny how you can feel good about sending off one kid and sick in the stomach to send the other. i just want to keep my boy home. the dread started setting in yesterday. when i came to wake him this morning he just said he felt like crying. he said he didn't know why...but deep down we both knew. for 35 hours a week he is in an environment he just does not enjoy i know it will pass but in the meantime my heart breaks. we've talked a time or two about what has changed as when he was little he didn't mind going to school. it was more like an adventure. he enjoys learning and is smart. but he doesn't enjoy all the other 'stuff' that takes place. i have my theories as to why and pray he'll be strong enough emotionally/mentally to get through it all. at times i swear he's mature beyond his years. i do know he is a good kid. a smart kid. a kind kid. and i do know that i am proud of him. he has room for improvement and i fully believe by the time his brain has matured he'll be a fine citizen. here's to hoping those who educate become more tolerant of the development that needs to take place. i found while working in the system that many times more is expected from students than could be accomplished by those with the expectations. (hypocrisy? perhaps...)

kate was the social butterfly over the weekend. marina's traditional halloween bash, overnight with brooklyn, youth reverse treating at the nursing home, pumpkin carving, trick or treating with kelsy o, regan b, & lauren mc then nate's party. all over the course of 2 days. a ton of candy later and 1 lost cell phone she had a pretty fun weekend. today begins the resuming of cheer practice for basketball season.

matt has basketball tryouts beginning tomorrow. please pray for him in his effort to make the team.
