weekend wrap up

saturday was the last football game for the freshmen. and consequently the last game for my kat to cheer as a freshman cheerleader. :/ wow does time fly. it was the first time my mom got to see her cheer and i must say it was a fabulous day for it. the sun was shining and the temperatures were perfect! afterward the cheerleaders hosted a cookout for the football team. it was a new concept so the attendance was down but for those who stuck around they were very appreciative. saturday evening andy and i painted the fence. we got through about 1/2 of it and hopefully this week we will be able to finish up. sunday was the purity retreat for our youth group. sadly our numbers were down from what they had been for the entire session but it was still totally awesome for the 15 kids who attended and made the commitment to stay pure until marriage. pray for them as their decision will be tested as they grow and mature.

today is monday. i've decided to take 2 weeks off from walking and get going on my house. it's in dire need of attention and apparently i'm the only one who's going to give it any. this is the aspect of motherhood and marriage i don't care for. and probably the only one. i fail to understand why others can't, won't, don't chip in and contribute to the clean up. especially when much of what i clean up seems to belong to someone else. it's probably an age old question and i'm sure i've done nothing to "help" my situation. (goes back to childhood...no need to lay on the couch and share) regardless, i'm trying, plugging away (when i'm done here) and taking baby steps to get to where ANDY says we need to be so that walls can come down, carpet & floors out,...basically out with the old an in with the new (which is sitting in boxes in my middle room).

so here's to attacking the clutter! please pray, & check in with me to make sure i've not done myself in! (jk)

one last thought, have a sense of humor this week. smile & giggle a little, it's sure to make others wonder what you're up to!
