Journeys....

Do you ever give much though to just how fun life is? Do you really take the time to enjoy the journey? What aspects of your day stand out? What do you remember about your day as it draws to a close? Is it the good or the bad stuff? I would venture to guess the most of us go to bed feeling the frustrations of the day. We're stressed, tense, tired. I've been taking a journey back in time through the journals of my Grandmother-in-law, Emma Ruth Anderson.

We have came across her journals dating back to Jan. 1 1975. I've deduced from reading that she probably wrote in her journal at the end of each day. She provides a recap of wake up time, temperature, weather conditions, visitors, food, and daily activities such as bible studies & shopping both she did a lot of! Out of 365 journal entries in 1975 only 1 recapped a possible disagreement between her & her brother. Even times that would frustrate most of us such as getting pulled over by the police she keeps a sense of humor and takes the warnings/tickets in stride. (i've read of a couple almost back to back in 1976...it happens)

I've tried to journal and obviously I blog. I use both as a method to recap, remember, vent, or just record. For me it's refreshing. There are times I feel like so much is going on inside my head I just need to get out. And I've come to learn over time that not everyone wants to hear what you have to say. However that doesn't mean I don't feel the need to say it. This allows me to get it out if you will.

I doubt that my children will ever be interested in reading my thoughts or recapping daily adventures but should they decide to ....here they are. (i'm saving trees)

If you don't blog or journal I really recommend it.

Have a good one...
